Η συλλογή περιλαμβάνει ευρήματα από τις ανασκαφές στην αρχαία πόλη του Θέρμου. Μεταξύ άλλων περιλαμβάνονται αντικείμενα της 2ης χιλιετίας π.Χ. γεωμετρικά χάλκινα αναθήματα, τμήματα από την πήλινη ανωδομή του ναού του Απόλλωνα Θερμίου που οικοδομήθηκε τον 7ο αιώνα π.Χ., καθώς και ψηφίσματα της Αιτωλικής Συμπολιτείας.
Η συλλογή περιλαμβάνει το Το σταθερό και το κινούμενο αυτόματο θέατρο του Ήρωνος. Ακριβής ανακατασκευή του σταθερού αυτόματου θεάτρου του Φίλωνος του Βυζαντίου (3ος αι. π.Χ.) που βελτίωσε και περιέγραψε με λεπτομέρειες ο Ήρων ο Αλεξανδρεύς στο βιβλίο του «Αυτοματοποιητική». Τα αυτόματα θέατρα ήταν τα «θαύματα» της κλασικής και ελληνιστικής εποχής, έργα των Ελλήνων «θαυματοποιών» της αρχαιότητας. Στο θέατρο του Ήρωνος παρουσιάζεται αυτόματα ο μύθος του Ναυπλίου που θέλει να εκδικηθεί τους Αχαιούς που σκότωσαν τον γιο του Παλαμήδη στην Τροία. This tool was developed within the project DARIAH-GR Developing a Greek Research Infrastructure for the Humanities DYAS.
The user, an arts and humanities researcher or scholar can use the registries to access information on Greek institutions or individuals, and the collections, both analogue and digital, they own or manage.
The tool takes advantage of the expertise and the available digital resources to improve the quality of users’ research or for educational purposes.
Cultural heritage managers (archivists, librarians, museum curators) leverage the collective expertise to maximize the social use of digital resources in the humanities and cultural heritage.
The content of the digital tool is being continuously enriched and updated with the aim to enhance the visibility of Greek analogue and digital content and to provide increased access to scholarly content. Therefore the contribution of users is essential.
